BOILER INDIA 2022, a convention and expo for global boiler and user industry leaders, took place from September 14 to 16 at the CIDCO Exhibition and Convention Centre in Mumbai. Organized by Orange Beak Technologies Private Limited, this three-day event was packed with interactive seminars led by global experts. During the expo, one visitor raised an intriguing and essential question: “Is biomass truly carbon neutral?” It is a crucial topic in the energy industry. Biomass is carbon neutral because it releases the same amount of carbon dioxide during combustion as the plants absorb during their growth. However, it’s essential to recognize that true carbon neutrality depends on various factors, including the source of the biomass, the processing methods, and how the fuel is ultimately utilise. While no fuel is entirely carbon-neutral, biomass offers a more sustainable alternative to traditional fossil fuels when managed correctly.
